Database Developer

As a Database developer you will work with Microsoft SQL Server technology stack and, when required, other 3’d party tools to design, create, maintain and improve database solutions. You will follow agile engineering practices and DSDM project methodology to assist the delivery successful technical projects within Callcredit. Maintain a high technical standard personally, to enable leading by example. Actively participate in project tasks, following own standards. Ensure the high quality (in terms of automated testing, integration testing, security, performance and overall quality) of software applications produced by the department. Provide 3rd line support to 1st and 2nd line support teams if necessary.


The key tasks and accountabilities of the role are:
• Work within a time box
• Escalate blockers to the Project Manager when necessary
• Undertake iterative developments of the deployable solution
• Provide accurate estimates of work
• Develop to agreed milestones and ensure project run in accordance to a set of targets
• Adhere to technical constraints laid out in the Solution Architecture Definition
• Participate in quality assurance to ensure products are fit for purpose
• Test own output prior to independent testing
• See that testing and review activities are part of “Done”

• Proven experience developing data solutions observing good practices
• Good database knowledge and SQL skills
• Exposure to high performing, low latency or large volume data systems. Knowledge of financial or demographic data
• Willingness to take ownership of problems. Expected to work in a structured manner and appreciate the value of QA processes and configuration management.
• Good communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills
• Good English (essential)
