The Vilnius Office of National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) is looking for a highly motivated person to join our team as a Program Intern for a part-time (20 hours per week) position. NDI is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, nongovernmental organization that supports democratic institutions and practices in every region of the world for more than two decades. NDI currently has more than 60 field offices working to strengthen and support democracy around the globe. Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Resident Director and the Political Program Manager, the intern will assist the program team in daily program work and particularly: Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Provide logistical and administrative support to ongoing programs; Monitor trends in the media (including social media) and provide analysis on these trends to the program management team; summarize them for NDI’s Daily News Digest Assist and provide support in the preparation of seminars, workshops and meetings; Provide translation/interpretation services - interpret during meetings, trainings and events; translate program materials as needed

Requirements

Excellent oral and written communication skills in ENGLISH AND RUSSIAN ARE ABSOLUTELY A MUST;
BA Degree or students currently pursuing BA or MA in Political Science, History, Journalism or International Relations or related subject;
Interest in politics of the region (Ukraine, Lithuania, Russian and Belarus)
Highly organized with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments ;
Capacity to work both independently and as a member of a team;
Flexibility and availability to work on weekends and public holidays as needed;
Computer skills and knowledge of office software packages.

Company offers

NDI will not sponsor residency or work permits for this position, therefore only applicants with the legal right to live and work in Lithuania will be considered.
