Senior Marketing and Export Advisor for Central Asia

This is a component lead and Deputy Chief of Party position for a major USAID agricultural development program in Uzbekistan. The objectives of the program include improving the quality and volume of agricultural production, improving post-harvest handling and production, facilitating market linkages, and increasing linkages between educational institutions and the private sector.

• Advanced degree in agricultural development, business/marketing, or other fields clearly relevant to the Program’s objectives.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in managing complex agricultural development programs, preferably within a Central Asia or elsewhere in the former Soviet Union, but relevant experience elsewhere may also be acceptable.
• Demonstrated experience and success in building capacity of organizations related to agriculture (farm enterprises, agri-firms, agricultural extension services, and public organizations).
• Strong interpersonal skills with evidence of ability to engage productively a wide range of organizations, beneficiaries and related parties (e.g., producers, government, private sector, NGOs, research institutions).
• Strong communications and technical skills, fluent in English, with excellent presentation skills.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a supervisory role with projects of similar complexity.
• Knowledge of Russian and/or Uzbek will be an asset.
