Job Description
We are looking for a colleague who would join our Ignitis Renewables team and support the Offshore Substation (OSS) package in all activities related to the civil/structural design, certification and procurement of the Offshore Substation for an offshore wind project in the Lithuanian Baltic Sea. You will contribute to green and secure energy ecosystem creation by:
- Developing project specifications, requirements, and tender documents
- Participating in bid preparation, including cost estimation and technical proposal development
- Collaborating with the project team to understand developer requirements and constraints
- Conducting site assessments and surveys to gather relevant data for tender submissions
- Revisioning design for the offshore substation structure and foundations ensuring employer requirements fulfilment and other mandatory regulations
- Collaborating with other engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical, etc.) to integrate subsystem designs into the overall structure
- Proposing solutions to design issues and make modifications as necessary based on feedback from stakeholders and regulatory authorities
- Resolving technical queries and coordinate fabrication contractors
- Ensuring risks are addressed / reported, mitigation actions determined, and risks are minimized or closed out
- Acting as the focal point within the OSS Team for all the technical interfaces (regarding Structure) with the OSS designer and external consulting companies.
Qualifications
- University degree (in structural or civil engineering) and have at least 5 year working experience in OSS design and construction of offshore wind farms
- Understanding the unique challenges and environmental conditions associated with offshore projects
- Proficiency in structural analysis techniques and familiar with materials commonly used in offshore construction
- Knowledge of geotechnical investigation techniques to assess soil properties and seabed conditions at the project site
- Being able to perform geotechnical analyses to determine foundation design parameters, such as bearing capacity, settlement, and lateral stability
- Hold a very good understanding of the technical and organizational processes for large infrastructure projects.
- Organized and methodical person who pays close attention to details and maintaining a clear sense of orderliness in their environment and workflow
- Excellent written and spoken English language skills.
