Accounting Specialist (1-year contract)

NKT, a leading cable producer with Headquarters in Denmark, is seeking an Accounting Specialist who is eager to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a growing global team.

You will be based in an international environment in a brand-new office in Kaunas. The role requires attention to detail, accounting skills and ability to work independently and also as a part of the team. You will be processing and booking incoming invoices, handling incoming and outgoing payments, participating in period-close procedures for Accounts Payable. You can also expect to receive inquiries and deliver accurate reports for internal customers and outsourcing partners or authorities. Other tasks will be:

• Supporting audit activities, prepare data according to the request from auditors
• Identify opportunities for process improvement
• Deliver service in line with agreed controls, policies and procedures
• Assist with the monthly inter-company processes
• Perform verification and reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts.
• Participate in assigned projects to support business needs and priorities
• Perform ad hoc tasks that require accounting skills

The candidate should have Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related discipline, higher commercial certificate or similar and 1-3 years of experience in accounting, accounts payables or receivables from a Shared Services organization or a major company is preferred. International experience is desired and knowledge of SAP or similar ERP system is preferred. On top of this, we expect you to have:

• Good command of Microsoft Office tools and MS Excel in particular.
• Good understanding of internal controls & risk management practices.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Fluent written and oral English.
