General Responsibilities
  • To assist the Executive Housekeeper and the 1st Assistant Housekeeper in overseeing the
daily Housekeeping operation, cleaning procedures and maintenance of all Guest areas
including Staterooms, laundries, public areas and public restrooms.
  • To train, coach, council, support and delegate the Housekeeping Department Staff.
  • To schedule, conduct and log all Departmental Training for Stewardesses, Assistant
Stewardesses, Piccolos and Night Service Attendants.
  • To guide the Housekeeping Coordinator and to ensure that the entire Housekeeping
Department is updated with relevant shipboard information at all times.
  • To do inspections as per policy and to follow up accordingly to ensure proper cleaning
procedures and maintenance of all Guest areas.
  • To assist the Executive Housekeeper in preparing Performance Appraisals for the
Housekeeping Department Staff.
  • To conduct inventories of all Housekeeping lockers on a regular basis and to ensure that they
are all kept neat and tidy and in accordance to safety rules and regulations.
  • To administer the “Big Sister program“ which includes, scheduling, training and inspecting all
new Stewardesses and Assistant Stewardesses.
  • To prepare Nametag request forms for all new and returning Housekeeping Staff.
  • To oversee all Guest Laundry procedures and to ensure that Guest Laundry is logged, taken
down to the Laundry and delivered back to the Guest in a timely manner.
  • To deal with any Maintenance issues which may arise in Guest areas and to report and follow
up on the work orders in a timely manner.
  • To assist Guests with any issues regarding the Safes in their Staterooms and to request
Security assistance when/if necessary.
  • To administer and oversee the “Buddy“ program for all new Housekeeping Crew and to follow
up accordingly.
  • To assist the Executive Housekeeper and 1st Assistant Housekeeper in coordinating the
execution of necessary Maintenance issues in conjunction with the Vice Captain based on
Stateroom availability.
  • To ensure that the Housekeeping Sanitation program is followed properly and that all Sanitation
Log sheets are fully updated and completed as per policy.
  • To complete a Work Registration Form correctly every month and to submit it to the Executive
Housekeeper in a timely manner.
  • To adhere to, and to ensure that the Housekeeping Department Staff adheres to all Company
Policies and Procedures, Manuals and Directives.
  • Other responsibilities, as assigned, but not limited to the above.


Education/Position Requirements

  • College Degree/Diploma beneficial.
  • Hotel Management School beneficial.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in a luxury hotel in a Housekeeping
Supervisory/Managerial position or two (2) years experience onboard a luxury cruise ship in a
Housekeeping position preferred.
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English (needs to score at least 80% in the onboard
English proficiency test).
  • Excellent interpersonal and public communication skills.
  • Must have very good administrative skills (proficient in Outlook, Word and Excel).
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and show attention to detail.
  • Must possess excellent leadership skills and the ability to interact with all levels of people.
  • Must be able to communicate and implement corrective action steps in an effective, yet
diplomatic fashion.
  • In depth Crystal Basics knowledge and understanding.
  • Must be able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Needs to have an outgoing personality and has to possess a positive attitude, maintaining a
friendly and approachable demeanor at all times.

Contractual permanent legal job with the contract `s length around 5 months followed by 2 months vacation

Medical exam and visa expenses are being covered by the employer once 90 days probation period on board completed
