Position Bartender; Department Hotel
Section Food and Beverage - Bar
Reports to Head Bartender
Supervises Asst. Bartender, Bar Waiter/ess, Deck Steward

Primary Objective of the Position
To ensure guests satisfaction by delivering quality beverages and bar service that consistently and effectively reflects the luxurious nature of Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

Key Performance Indicators
– Guest satisfaction measured by Guests comment cards in regards to his – her area,
– Full compliance with USPH regulations,
– Achievement of departmental financial targets (revenue, costs),
– True ambassador of Regent Seven Seas Cruises and our Service Anchors,

Areas of Accountability

To provide high quality and luxurious service to the guests by:

– Ensuring that his - her Bar is properly stocked, set up and open as scheduled,
– Reporting to the Head Bartender any issue that needs solving,
– Monitoring guest flow in his – her Bar to ensure that beverage services are attended to for all guests,
– Preparing beverages in accordance to guests preferences and in line with Regent Seven Seas Cruises policy and procedures,
– Ensuring that his - her Bar team is well trained in company procedures to ensure good stock control and accurate charging to accounts,
– Communicating effectively to ensure that his - her Bar team reflects Regent Seven Seas Cruises values – our Service Anchors at all times,
– Ensuring that his - her bar team is aware of all events and activities on the ship at all times.
– Bartender is over all in charge of the bars and responsible for any shortcomings.
– Conducting the inventory in a proper way and monitoring the bar cost.
– Ensuring to comply with Regent Alcohol Policy.

To ensure full compliance with USPH regulations by:

– Ensuring the logging of all fridge, freezer and dishwasher temperatures, as explained in current Policy and/or in accordance with Regent Seven Seas Cruises procedures and legal guidelines in beverage venues,
– Reporting any maintenance issue promptly to the Head Bartender,
– Guaranteeing the safety of all crewmembers by providing:
– tools in working conditions,
– protective clothing and equipment when necessary,
– training and guidance on how to use and keep them to effectively perform their jobs.

To achieve and exceed departmental financial targets (revenue, costs) by:

– Liaising with the Head Bartender and the rest of the department in establishing and achieving predetermined profit objectives without jeopardizing standards of quality of food, service, cleanliness, etc.,
– Keeping self and team aware of targets, costs and monitoring procedures,
– Motivating the team to up sell and generate revenue,
– Providing ideas to maximize beverage revenues and minimize costs,
– Assisting with the inventories and requisitions to restock bar items, the control of in use stock inventory in all beverage outlets (i.e. glassware, china, silver, linen) and the consumable’s requisitions for the whole department.

To assist with loading and off loading of luggage and provisions if requested.

– To keep supervisor promptly and fully informed of all relevant matters,
– To ensure confidentiality when handling sensitive information,
– To achieve the primary objectives of the position and comply with the above mentioned accountabilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with Regent Seven Seas Cruises policies,
– To project a favorable image of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, to promote its aims and objectives and foster and enhance public recognition and acceptance of all its areas and endeavor,

– To comply with the safety and pollution prevention regulations and operating procedures at all times, participating in all relevant meetings and training sessions,
– To participate in all mandatory training without excuse,
– To observe and enforce uniform standards according to Regent Seven Seas Cruises policies and procedures,
– Must obtain both job and product knowledge and at the same time must have the knowledge of cocktail recipes and wine lists.
– To efficiently perform all other duties as requested by shipboard management or shore-side.

Requirements

CONTRACT LENGTH 6 MONTHS / 2 MONTHS VACATION
BARTENDERS HAVE A FIX SALARY OF 2500US$
