Data Engineer

Right now, we are looking for an experienced data professional for Data and Analytics team in Vilnius. I am Justas Mikaliūnas, the leader of our team of Data Engineers within our Telia Norway IT department. We are a building a team of great bunch of people and I am super proud of every single member of it.

Our team, Data & Analytics, are responsible to provide technical capabilities to support Telia Norway’s mission and realize our insight ambitions. For the moment we are running our infrastructure on Hadoop cluster in AWS, though gradually we are moving towards managed services approach in the public cloud.

Who are you?
We are on a journey to become the new generation telco, which means that you need to be open-minded and not be afraid of change. You have worked on public cloud environments and know how to create and maintain optimal data pipelines’ architecture there. You are self-directed and comfortable supporting data needs for multiple teams, systems and products. Ideally, you have worked with managed Big Data solutions such as Redshift or BigQuery.

Your experience:
Extensive knowledge of AWS stack for Big Data
Good knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem. Ideally, you have worked with Cloudera distribution
Good knowledge of Python
Good knowledge of SQL
Bonus points if you have experience in Bash scripting.
