I am Sailaja Kunapuli and I am leading Data and Information management unit at TeliaCompany and we are now looking for a Data Governance specialist.
Your next challenge?
- Define and implement Data Governance framework
- Define and implement Data Governance operating model with roles and responsibilities, and data governance processes
- Work closely with our Information Governance specialist to align business information perspective and IT implementation perspective
- Assist in developing and implementing data governance policies and standards
- Address data quality issues, data improvement needs and provide remediation recommendations
- Define data governance success measures and report results
- Assist in creating data dictionary for the company, together with other information/data stakeholders.
- Work across a matrix organisation across countries and ensure that data governance is implemented in a consistent manner
Who are you?
You are a strong team player with an architectural mindset, who will be working with a team of data and information architects. This team is placed in a bigger Enterprise architecture team and will have several stakeholders, e.g. business, governance, process, developers. This role needs the following experience and skills -
Your personality:
- You are positive, goal-oriented and can work as part of a team
- You are constantly educating yourself with industry’s updates in your area of expertise and are brave to challenge existing ways while proposing new ways in a constructive manner
- You have excellent verbal and written communication skills to express your ideas clearly to non-architecture stakeholders as well
- You can train other people as needed in the area
Your Experience:
- 5-10 years of experience in data governance role
- Demonstrated ability to build data governance frameworks within a large, complex organisation.
- Expert knowledge in Enterprise data governance best practices and industry updates
- Good understanding of information lifecycle management, data modelling and data management.
- Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
- Telecommunications business understanding is a plus.
- Strong communication skills in English and able to effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders
