Debt Collector (US time shift)

• Performs day to day Collections activities
• Initiates the collection process of overdue accounts contacting customers via letters and phone calls to collect payments on a timely basis
• Follows up on outstanding issues, updating system notes with the status of all collection activity
• Engages with customers on complex payment challenges to understand their processes to ensure resolution
• Researches customer deductions and coordinates resolution
• Responds to customers’ requests for documentation
• Maintains customer collection files to ensure information is complete, accurate and compliant with standard operating procedures.
• Follows general operating procedures to recommend amounts for write-off to the Collections
• Reconciles customer accounts and prepares adjustments following standard operating procedures.
• Communicates on an ongoing basis with billing staff and sales account managers to resolve accounts receivable issues as appropriate
• Reviews requests for refunds to ensure appropriate document exists to enable processing or transfers to other accounts
• Reviews and resolves any inconsistent or deposit data as necessary.
• Periodically prepares reports on the status of collection activities

• University or high education qualification, preferably in Finance, Business or equivalent
• 1 year of relevant experience
• Excellent language skills in written and spoken English
• Strong communications skills across different cultures
• Action orientated, skilled at investigating and resolving customer issues
• Work in the US time zone

Useful skills:
• Knowledge and understanding of financial processes and financial systems
• Experience from working in finance transformation projects is preferable
