The main purposes of the 12 months program in Denmark are to train the Development Instructors to be active and competent creators and instructors in Development for children with special needs, and to prepare for Africa. The program consists of theoretical studies in teaching, Africa related topics, language studies and practical studies. The practical studies are situated at your school of accommodation (Hellebaek, Skydebanegaard , Boserup), and consist of various tasks: teaching, social work, maintenance, EDB, office work and humble activities like cleaning and dish wash. Basically you will be a part of running the school in all of its aspects together with the staff at the school. Though the practical studies you will acquire skills, such as organizing, arranging cultural events, teaching students with many different difficulties, organizing practical tasks etc.
In the six month period as a Development Instructor at a Humana project in Africa, you will work in a specific project (such as: HIV/AIDS prevention, Teaching (in colleges or preschools), Environmental programs, Child Aid) towards this during the last six months of your period in Denmark.
The program targets young people in between 18 and 35 years of age who are willing and prepared to take up the challenge.

There are no specific academic requirements, but your profile is expected to match the requirements of the school.
You will be hired as a volunteer by your school. This will cover pocket money as well as the other expenses related to the program.
During the time at Humana project in Africa you receive food, accommodation and pocket money.
