DevOps for Mobile Life

The Team

Mobile Life is a bi-model organization, sponsored by Danske Bank however well outside the typical banking structure. It is a development house with a purpose to disrupt traditional banking and deliver innovative IT solutions directly to customers. The idea is that in all likelihood banking, as we know it will not exist in 10 years. Hence, Mobile Life is relatively small, super agile, “no-titles” team working to discover new ways banks can relate to their customers.

We work with some of the most innovative and advanced technologies. Organized in small teams with full-stack developers in very close contact with our direct business reference. We are 80 dedicated people based in Copenhagen, now extending into Vilnius.

The Projects

We are not a traditional organisation in the sense of having a clear roadmap and hence the team will not be a traditional development team with a defined system to own. We will go and revolutionise any banking area wherever the customers take us. Having started with Sunday.dk as an entry portal for current and future services, we are now working on more than 10 new projects, but the idea is the same – to lead customers through their most important life events and make the journey as easy as possible.

As a Devops for MobileLife, you’ll be part of a cross-functional development team, while still keeping strong ties and coordinating with the other Devops people. The teams are a mix of developers, UX, designers and data analysts and we’d like to have a Devops person embedded in every team.

Your role will be to:

• Improve development processes as part of a development team
• Take part in the team’s normal development work, according to your skillset
• Inspire the team with the Devops way and mind-set
• Spot opportunities for improvement and automation
• Work closely with the other Devops so we can learn from each other and coordinate the efforts across the teams
• Continually improve our code, build, test and deploy lifecycle and processes
• Improving site reliability and performance, in all the stages of the lifecycle
• Make the relevant metrics visible, for example on big-screen dashboards

• Have an urge to automate and script all the things.
• Have 3+ years of relevant work experience
• Has good command-line fu, as we use Linux for our servers
• Have some developer skills, as we expect you to be able to make code changes and make some of your own tooling. Our main language is JavaScript, running on Node
• Have work experience with Docker. We use it extensively for both the development pipeline and in production
• Have work experience with Jenkins as that’s our main automation server
