Accounts Payable Specialist

In order to build one of the world’s largest money transfer networks, Western Union needs accounts payable team that can deliver exceptional services. The European Regional Operating Center (EUROC) – the largest Western Union (WU) site in the world focuses on driving real improvements through shorter lead times, decreasing costs and improving customer satisfaction. The EUROC also serves as a Centre of Excellence and hosts Anti Money Laundering Compliance, Accounting and Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources, Marketing, Operations, Digital Operations and Distribution amongst other functions. Accounts payable team works with 58 entities in Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia and Pacific regions paying invoices and managing employees’ expenses.

The Job
You will be responsible for providing financial and administrative services within the accounts payable department. You will process invoices and payments, allocate invoices to proper general ledgers accounts, perform month end close functions including journal entries account analysis. We will expect you to answer queries from external and internal customers, monitor aging invoices, research discrepancies, and maintain processes and tools to improve efficiency.


About you
We would need you to be fluent in written and spoken English. We would consider any additional languages as an advantage. You should also have strong communication skills and exemplary customer service skills. You should also have experience in accounts payable or equivalent. You will need to demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills. Day to day job will require you to be detail oriented, computer literate and have strong knowledge of MS Word and Excel. You should be able to handle high volumes of information in a very busy office environment. Degree in accounting, finance or equivalent would be your asset.
