Job Description

For the recently established Enablement & Analytics unit we are seeking an experienced team leader who proactively sets the direction and drives the enablement team. The team leader will also participate in the prioritization of activities based on contributions to improvements in IT responsiveness and service availability, which is our number 1 priority.

The goal for enablement is implementing and getting the full potential from the monitoring and analytical tools that are available. The team will maintain overview of the IT Operations architecture and get the full potential from existing tools – getting the targeted groups to use them in the intended way - and proactively participate in selection of new tools and upgrades. More specifically, this will include getting the full potential of application performance monitoring and diagnostics both in the IT Enterprise Command center and application development units.

An important element of the roadmap will be automation of daily IT operations and incident resolution processes. The team will set the agenda in IT Operations’ ambition to get to the forefront of this area. As a tool and automation specialist, you will be driving the change towards automating repeatable, mundane tasks in IT operations and ensuring that processes and routine tasks are executed without or with minimum human efforts according to best practices.

Job responsibilities:

  • Manage, lead and continuously develop a team of enablement and automation specialists
  • Own the overall roadmap for IT Operations infrastructure, tools and processes
  • Drive Implementation and enablement of enterprise monitoring and diagnostics both within IT at both component and application level and integration across levels 
  • Drive the automation of tasks - supporting, formalizing or, if necessary, suggesting and implementing tools, processes, procedures or workflows needed to achieve high level of automation in daily IT operations or incident resolution process
  • Represent the department in automation /tools development projects
  • Stay on top of the industry best practices and trends, and position relative to benchmarks

Requirements

  • Team and/or project management experience
  • Higher education in IT or related fields;
  • The preferred candidate will have general knowledge, and some in-depth expertise, of the areas in which he will be working. This could include experience in ITSM tools and/or automation platform (e.g. ServiceNow Orchestration, BMC Server Automation,  HP Operations Manager, Microsoft System Center Orchestrator or similar);
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Leadership and willing to set direction and pace;
  • Desire and passion to learn, change, improve and optimize;
  • Communication skills;
  • Stakeholder management.
