ForumCiv is a civil society member organisation that works with development issues from a rights-based perspective. We work with advocacy and capacity building of partner organisations around the world, on issues relating to democracy and human rights. Our HQ is in Stockholm, we have Regional Offices in Eastern Europe, Eastern Africa, Latin America and country offices in Cambodia, Liberia and Somalia. ForumCiv was founded in 1995 and is the largest civil society platform in Sweden with about 140 member organisations.

 

ForumCiv Eastern Europe, based in Vilnius, Lithuania is a young, dynamic, fun team dedicated to equality and justice around the region and is responsible for design and implementation of programmes, advocacy and communication activities in the region of Western Balkans, Eastern Partnership countries and Central Asia.

 

Currently, ForumCiv is implementing Sida and EU funded programmes aimed on support of civil society development in Belarus. Programmes consist of capacity development, advocacy and grant mechanisms designed to enhance respect of human rights, fundamental freedoms, and democratic governance in Belarus. In order to expand our work, we are recruiting Finance and Compliance Officer, based in Vilnius. The initial employment period is three years, with possibility of extension.

 

 

Areas of responsibility:

Primary responsibility of Finance and Compliance Officer is to administer EU funded project, including assuring requirements of donor are met, supporting and controlling other implementing partners as well as providing logistical support for the implementation of activities. This includes but is not limited to:

 

  • Support to implementing partners to assure compliance with the requirements and conditions from donors;
  • Verification of financial reports and documents of implementing partners;
  • Organization and coordination of conferences and trainings;
  • Support in creating and maintaining administrative documents and records.

 

Reikalavimai

Qualifications required:    

  • University/college degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Administration;
  • Up to 2 years’ experience (employment or internship) performing administrative or assistance tasks in finance or administration field;
  • Understanding of general administration and accounting principles and practices, experience with EU funded projects is advantageous;
  • A structured, analytic, and fact-based working approach with the ability to work both alone and as part of a global team;
  • High level of ownership, responsibility, critical thinking and motivation to continually develop personal & technical skills;
  • Very good computer skills (MS Office);
  • Fluency in Lithuanian, working knowledge of English and Russian languages.
