Global Supply Chain - Distribution Requirements Planner

Position Summary:

The Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) role is focused on ensuring that we have finished goods inventory in the correct place when our customers need it! This is achieved while optimizing inventory levels with regards to back orders, order cycle time, inventory and stock write offs. Essential functions include crafting and optimising sophisticated stocking strategies, maintenance of data integrity, supervising critical metrics, Practical Process Improvement (PPI or continuous improvement) activities and close collaboration with colleagues across the global supply chain.

We face a broad mix of supply chain challenges in an extremely fast paced environment. We need a candidate who will exercise considerable judgement and initiative to resolve problems and make recommendations. Tact, diplomacy and interpersonal skills are essential to building relationships with internal customers and communicating with key partners. Effective prioritization, time management and organizational skills are vital to enable success in this role.

Key Objectives:

• Plan and execute orders with intercompany suppliers then manage open orders versus business needs.
• Answer availability enquiries and take the lead to resolve issues by working with supply sites and internal customers.
• Resolve back orders with exploration of root cause and implementation of preventative actions.
• Build and analyse reports pertaining to supply chain to supervise important metrics.
• Emphasise data integrity to support Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP).
• Supervise inventory health and rebalance material to support financial objectives.
• Engage and collaborate in cross functional improvement efforts and projects, including presenting to partners.

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Operations or equivalent experience preferred.
• Confirmed experience in distribution or production planning and scheduling, inventory control, logistics or material management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of planning concepts, MRP and DRP systems and processes.
• Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience, especially Oracle E1 or SAP.
• Strong customer service focus and ability to identify the urgent.
• Able to function optimally in a workplace with great intensity.
• Able to deal with complexity and balance multiple, challenging tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Strong communicator who can effectively connect with all levels of the organization.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Access and Outlook).
