Job Description

Individuals in this role provide project support to design and build the telecommunications infrastructure for new corporate facilities. They act as project managers overseeing all aspects of the infrastructure build and have responsibility for all physical infrastructure deliverables. Additional responsibilities include providing project support for technology refreshes, facility decommissions and as needed emergency after hours support.

Infrastructure engineer reports to Critical Systems & Infrastructure Engineering Manager. 

 Responsibilities:

  • Participates in short-term planning efforts with stakeholders and IT groups, provides project time estimates;
  • Works with team members to understand business needs.
  • Develops technical solutions based on the business requirements and functional specifications, identifies issues;
  • Determines technical requirements impact on existing architecture, work processes, systems and ongoing support;
  • Assists in determining infrastructure systems specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility;
  • Develops/builds and tests solutions or infrastructure solutions;
  • Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services-from inception and design, through deployment, operations and refinement;
  • Implements Security solutions, maintains existing capabilities, makes recommendations and provides audit trails;
  • Creates test plans and performs system tests;
  • Assists in the deployment of new, modified or enhanced infrastructure components or services;
  • Analyzes metrics to understand performance and identifies opportunities for continuous improvements;
  • Performs Level 3 issue assessment and resolution on infrastructure solutions;
  • Works with vendors to resolve problems and develop infrastructure solutions;
  • Maintains local Internet, remote access, VPNs, and connectivity protocols. Establishes user profiles, user environments, directories, and security for networks being installed. Researches, analyzes and implements software or hardware changes to rectify any issues.
  • Evaluates future technologies and makes recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Networking or other relevant field or specialized training, certification or equivalent work experience;    
  • 3-5 years of related technology work experience;      
  • Experience in AutoCAD; 
  • Ability to read, analyze and understand contracts, statements of work and scopes of work;
  • Excellent time management; ability to multi-task, clear understanding of project deadlines, scopes of work and life cycles;
  • Strong and thorough knowledge about budgetary details and the financial analysis;
  • Ability to effectively interact with colleagues, vendors and customers/clients of all demographics and professional levels;
  • Cisco and BISCI Certifications are preferred;    
  • Willingness to travel up to 40 % of the time outside Lithuania.
