Job Description
- Assist in the support of hardware/software and ensure high availability of the production environment
- Configure new system application and publish them into production
- Develop and assist in the management and performance monitoring of the production environment
- Analyzes system performance and modify parameters in order to utilize system resources more effectively
- Proactively document processes and eliminate identified process gaps
- Work together with different business units to develop the engineering design to support the business and operational requirements for standard systems as well as enhance existing systems. Organize and host the conference calls with all the customers if required.
- Coordinates activities with vendors as required.
- Estimate and plan activities within the domain for individual tasks to provide the necessary input into the project managers for developing an end to end plan
- Participates in on-call production support activities based upon documented support procedures
- Assist in the development and testing and support of the Disaster Recovery Plan were applicable
- Follow standard processes for change, incident, problem management, audit and security.
- Act as an SME for less experience colleagues providing leadership and coaching respectively
- Operations lifecycle and improvement initiatives (scaling out, monitoring, retirement of legacy systems)
Requirements
- 3 years of experience as a Systems Engineer or (equivalent)
- 3 plus years of experience working on Windows 2008/2012 operating system
- 3 plus years of San Administration (preferably with Netapp Technology)
- 3 plus years of experience in a Windows / Linux environment
- 3 plus years in a VMWare virtual environment (ESx5+)
- Ability to work in an incident management system
- Strong understanding of storage (preferred NetApp)
- Experience with managing Exchange 2007+ environment
- Light firewall experience for security of web applications
- Experience with backup solutions (preferred Netbackup / Comvault)
- Strong security experience
- Excellent English skills (written and spoken)
