Job Description
Profile:
Responsible for thorough root cause analysis and completion of preventive actions so as to
avoid repeat problems related to Technology and Infrastructure. The job entails coordination with
Operations, Application development, Technology Infrastructure, network, suppliers to ensure
the problem causes are identified and appropriately addressed. Manage Problem, Error control
and service quality improvement initiatives involved in the delivery of Production Services.
Key Roles:
- Assist in enabling IT to support Business Objectives/Results
- Assess IT operational capabilities and define opportunities to create business value and
- Play key roles in Service Quality Improvement Initiatives such as taskforces to stabilize
- Drive Service Quality Improvement initiatives and special projects for service
- Play a key role in aligning actual performance to the SLA objectives
- Play a leading role in optimizing problem isolation and diagnosis processes across the IT
- Undertake a key role in ensuring required quality of service, availability and performance is
- Provide technical leadership in the execution of IT service improvement initiatives
- Assist in driving the initiative to minimize impact of application problems on business
- Assigning problems to the right groups the first time
- Responsible for reviewing and publishing technology problem cause analysis to
- Track actions and recommendations from various forums related to Problem Management
- Generate monthly scorecards, publishing and tracking of metrics on post mortem reports
- Coordinate metrics reporting for preparing management review materials and drive special
- Play a key role in proactive problem management
- Perform an active role in establishing Problem Cause Analysis Methodology
- Facilitate customer and management deep-dive review of problem causes and trends
- Other assignments to improve problem management processes
- Responsible to provide management reporting on all activities and any other related
- Supervise IT Operations to satisfy the bank's Quality of Service, High Availability,
- Ensure team members follow procedures and carry out actions within agreed timeframes.
- Develop strong relationships with key Business Units
- Take tasks that are roughly defined, yet involve complex interactions with other projects,
- Be proactive in finding problems, defining and implementing solutions for them.
- Provide technical leadership
- Ensure that all concerned staff are trained and provided with the appropriate
- Assist problem management to update known error database and track defects in
- Provide awareness in transforming IT to deliver business value
- Transfer knowledge to the bank team
Requirements
Skills Required:
- At least 6 years of profound experience in IT Operations.
- Experience in Incident / Problem Management is a strong plus.
- Minimum 6 years experience in IT
- Strong understanding and experience in IT Operations
- Equipped with profound knowledge of data centre operational management
- ITIL and/or ISO aligned service management experience
- Strong experience in Project Management Cycle (certification is an advantage)
- ISO and/or ITIL relevant certification is an advantage
- Knowledge and background in Basel II, COBIT (Control Objectives for Information and
- Knowledge of banking business international trends, drivers and compliance objectives is
- Holds good experience and knowledge in IT Operational Technologies (IT service
- Strong Technical understanding of multiple platforms, Operating Systems (including UNIX),
Finance applications, networking and other technology elements.
- Detailed oriented and demonstrated ability to think strategically as well as tactically.
- Ability to manage multiple problems with conflicting priorities in a 24x7 operational
- Strong analytical, creative problem solving, and planning skills to achieve results.
- History of success working in fast-paced environment and ability to handle multiple
- Team leadership, coaching and mentoring skills
- Demonstrated written and oral presentation skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and across departments
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
