Main purpose of the role
Accounting Lead is responsible for the entire accounting operations in Baltic countries (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia), which include leading the team and managing the full accounting process in order to ensure financials and procedures are in accordance with corporate and Baltic legislative requirements.
Accounting Lead will have contact with Baltics senior and middle level management, corporate representatives (including Global Business Service centers), outsourced service providers, external consultants and local authorities.
What you will be doing
• Ensure high quality and timely accounting activities and reporting in line with local GAAP, US GAAP, corporate policy and tax requirements in Baltic countries (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia)
• Development, documentation and maintenance of accounting principles, practices & procedures in line with US GAAP, local GAAP & corporate policy
• Managing of month close activities as to US GAAP requirements
• Preparation of annual statutory financial statements as to local GAAP requirements
• Support activities for audits (both external and internal), liaising with auditors, tax consultants and local regulators
• Treasury related activities (cash flow forecasting, approval of payment terms and payments, review of finance part of external agreements, etc.)
• Managing and developing local accounting team
• Managing accounting and reporting activities performed by Teva global business service centers and external service providers
• Management of accounting department budget
• Management and implementation of accounting and reporting related projects (implementation of new accounting/reporting or supporting system, current system improvement, etc.)
• Participation in initiatives (local, regional, global) focusing on process efficiency, standardization, harmonization, leaning, etc.
• Supporting business activities by providing high quality financial information, delivering necessary trainings, solving accounting/reporting related issues
• Assistance to Baltic Chief financial officer in day-to-day tasks
