As Engineering Manager, you are responsible for the employees that you will provide as resources to various agile teams within Telia in the B2B and B2C Domain of Digital Channels. Your employees team size will be 9 and might grow to a size of 15-20. Your co-workers are Software Engineers, Business Analysts, Scrum Master and Architects with great experience and mindset. You will be a member of the Digital Channels management team where you have a great opportunity to influence all important decisions that we need to make to take us closer to our Wanted Position which describes the wanted future state within DevOps, Employee Commitment, Deliveries and Frontend Technology.

In the management team we work with continuous improvements and agile leadership with great focus on our customers and we feel proud of working close to the market to meet our common goals.


Is this you?
You have either an experience from being a manager for agile IT development teams and units, or you have a desire to move into this direction. You are also interested in taking agility and DevOps way of working to the next level and together with your colleagues drive changes towards more efficient ways of working. You are strong within people management and find it challenging and interesting to work cross-border with colleagues in Nordic and Baltics, but mainly Denmark and Norway.

The main responsibilities of the position will be:

  • Coach your employees, to make sure that our solutions are scalable, maintainable and architecturally sound

  • Coach your employees in our DevOps journey and make sure our applications are running 24/7

  • Grow a team of engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, inspiring, feedback and hands-on personal career development

  • Lead according to modern, agile and DevOps software development practices and help creating good engineering and organizational practices

  • Secure ways of working together with teams in Denmark and Norway

  • Co-operate with other technology areas on global deliveries

  • Play a key role in helping Digital Channels continue attracting, developing, and retaining great engineering talent.

  • Example of technologies your employees are working with include latest Vue, EpiServer (now called Optimizely), inRiver PIM, C# (.NET 5.0), React, GraphQL, Elastic Search, Java, Kotlin, Redux, GoLang, Contentful, AWS, Google Tag Management, Firebase

Your Experience:

  • Experience leading engineering teams with deep technical skills in a cloud-based environment

  • Preferably experience from large matrix organizations, working with many different stakeholders and large-scale projects

  • Relevant bachelors or master’s degree in engineering or computer science

  • Interest to follow new agile frameworks and tech trends

  • You possess a deep understanding of how to translate product and business goals into maintainable technical solutions

  • Strong track record of driving delivery of software with high availability expectations/SLAs

  • Fluent in English.

Working in this position you will receive a base salary starting at 4100 – 6100Eur/month (gross). Plus, annual bonuses which vary, depending on your competencies and your and Telia results. Besides for each employee Telia has additional employee benefits package which includes:
