Summary:

The work schedule for this position is:



  • Full Time (40 hours per week)


Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (4 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties

The incumbent operates safely and efficiently an unarmored U.S. Government-owned or leased motor vehicle to transport passengers and/or cargo. Works as messenger as directed. Prepares trip reports, vehicle use and fuel logs. Estimates fuel consumption for trips. Assumes duty driver responsibility on a rotational basis.  Incumbent may be required to make trips that require out-of-town stays. May drive armored vehicles, as required.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:  At least three years of professional driving experience is required.


JOB KNOWLEDGE:  Must have a good working knowledge of the city and its environs, including driving routes and traffic patterns. Must be familiar with the location of hospitals, police and fire stations within the city and its immediate surroundings.

Education Requirements:

  • High school education is required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE:  Limited knowledge of English (Reading/Writing/Speaking) is required. (This may be tested) Good working knowledge of Lithuanian (Reading/Writing/Speaking) is required.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must hold a valid driver’s license.  Must have the ability to read maps and plan driving routes.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Vilnius, Lithuania may receive a compensation package that may include health insurance, separation, additional days off during American holidays and other benefits.


For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.


The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.

The certification letter should be on letterhead of the appropriate military branch of the service and contain (1) the military service dates including the expected discharge or release date; and (2) the character of service.  Acceptable documentation must be submitted in order for the preference to be given.
