Junior Modelling and Simulations Engineer

We have a new position at Vilnius – Junior Modelling and Simulations Engineer. Our Mechanical Engineering Department is looking for a motivated engineer to carry out various space related calculations and simulations as well as vibration/shock testing on a subsystem and satellite level!

Main responsibilities

• Thermal and/or mechanical FEA simulations on both subsystem and overall satellite level by using Comsol and SolidWorks FEA packages;
• Calculations to check feasibility of various design concepts;
• Mechanical and thermal component sizing;
• Mathematical modelling of dynamic systems;
• Subsystem and overall satellite shock / vibration testing.

• A degree in mechanical / aerospace engineering or equivalent;
• A good understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, mechanics of solids and structures, vibrations and multibody dynamics;
• Understanding of orbital mechanics is an advantage;
• Experience in structural and/or thermal FEA simulations is desired;
• Proficient user of at least one CAD software;
• Experience in using Matlab/Simulink and/or OpenModelica is an advantage;
• Experience in space industry is an advantage;
• Attention to detail;
• Ability to work independently;
• Ability to learn fast.
• Driver’s license (travelling to testing facilities will be needed)
