LINUX ADMINISTRATOR

• Build and maintain hardware/software configurations for Red Hat Linux/CentOS systems.
• Generate, install, implement and maintain system-level software packages such as OS, Clustering, disk and file management, backup, web applications.
• Develop, install and maintain utility programs/shell scripts to manage application start, stop, end-of-day, monitoring and failures/recoveries.
• Provide automated solutions.
• Provide technical assistance regarding hardware/software selection.
• Support system repair and problem management.
• Design/Build/Administer servers through KVM and/or VMware ESX.
• Implement automated solutions and policies to reduce administrative efforts.
• Monitor utilization, capacity growth and performance across several sites.
• Work with Network, SAN and backup teams effectively in building and maintaining Open Systems environment.
• Evaluate new technology and tools to identify cost efficient solutions to the management and operation teams.
• Work closely with program management team to define project requirements, assist with project coordination, evaluate hardware requirements and recommend computing solution.
• Support all aspects of project life cycle through ITIL based Configuration, Change, Service, Incident and Problem management.
• Support operational, failure/recovery and performance testing in both the test and production environments.

Required Skills:
• 2 years of experience in System Administrator/Engineer role.
• 2 years experience working with virtualization technology such as KVM/VMware/Hyper-V.
• Experience working with OS management tool such as Puppet, Redhat Satellite, Spacewalk, Chef, Ansible.
• Experience with CentOS/Redhat.
• Strong understanding of system security, networks and storage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Skills:
• Experience in 24x7 production environment with 400+ servers.
• Working knowledge of external cloud environment such as AWS, Azure.
• Experience in deploying or operating in Infrastructure as a Service platform such as AWS/Azure.
• Programming languages experience (e.g. Ruby, Python, Perl, shell scripting).
• Agile development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
