Linux Server Administrator

We are a dynamic, rapidly growing full-service web agency from Scotland with over 130 employees in Europe and beyond. We provide online solutions for our clients all the way from consultation & design to development & marketing & hosting.

Our offices are located in Dundee, Edinburgh, Bristol and Riga. As well as remote employees all over the world.

We are currently looking for Linux Server Administrator who would join our Riga team or work remotely.

 Roles & Responsibilities:

• Responding to and dealing with server issues, hardware and software.
• Identifying and stopping spam/floods.
• Identifying sites/scripts problems if is server related or from programming.
• Deploying new servers - virtual & physical.
• Server maintenance updates, security.
• Migrating websites.
• Firewall management.
• Providing 3rd level support to the Helpdesk and Development teams.

Location & Hours

During probation period the candidate will be required to work 09:00-17:30 (GMT+0). After this period times will become flexible as you will join a rota to respond to urgent issues outside of normal working hours.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2-3 years relevant experience, be able to display an understanding of the following systems and a desire to progress their technical skills in this field.

Good knowledge of spoken and written English.

Software:

• CloudLinux/CentOS/Almalinux/Ubuntu;
• CPanel/WHM;
• Apache, nginx, php, mysql, exim, nodejs;
• Scripting bash;
• Basic web programming knowledge, php, mysql;
• Linux networking /routing; and

Hardware and Cloud:

• Physical servers - installing OS or virtualization software, hardware management, raid setups;
• Switches basic setups;
• VMWare ESXi;
• Amazon Web Servers.
