Job Description
Intermedix has a need for a Linux/UNIX Systems Engineer with the ability to balance and complete multiple project assignments in a high volume, dynamic environment. This position is focused on the shared development and management of virtual/physical systems infrastructure and software ecosystem, both internal and client-facing. Troubleshooting and supporting many products and tools is a strong aspect of this role, as is identifying potential opportunities for improvement. This role requires the ability to quickly learn and adapt to change.
Responsibilities:
- Deploy, administer, and secure CentOS, RedHat, and FreeBSD systems
- Design and engineer high-availability, scalable solutions for new and existing services
- Support production infrastructure and development operations
- Automate repetitive tasks and workflows
- Collaborate with other teams to resolve complex issues
- Research, implement, and document new tools and processes
- Act as an escalation point for support departments in resolving internal and client-facing issues
- Participate in weekly on-call rotation
Requirements
- Fluency with BASH and Linux command-line tools
- Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills
- Understanding of DNS and basic networking topics
- Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Company offers

- Experience with a configuration management tool (Ansible, Chef, or Puppet)
- Knowledge of VMware ESXi and vSphere
- Exposure to FreeBSD
- Interest in DevOps tools, methodologies, and culture
- Previous Software or Release Engineering experience
