Marketing Automation Engineer

We’re looking for a Marketing Automation Engineer to join our automation team. The automation Intelligence Marketing (AIM) team mission is to empower our marketing teams to work smarter, focus on strategic goals, and eliminate time spent on repetitive tasks, including enabling work that humans cannot do. In this role, you will contribute to building reliable automation solutions for marketing, working closely with more experienced engineers, data teams, and marketing stakeholders. This will support our company's vision of making second-hand the first choice worldwide by growing the Vinted platform and helping us invest our marketing budget efficiently.

In this position, you’ll

• Focus on contributing to scalable and durable automation solutions for marketing, while growing your engineering skills and becoming increasingly independent in owning well-scoped tasks and smaller problem spaces.

Build and improve automation solutions:

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of tools that automate creative asset workflows and optimize marketing channels with bid and budget management.
• Develop, test, and maintain marketing automation solutions mainly in Python.
• Support the development and maintenance of data pipelines & databases.
• Help create and maintain APIs for data querying, integrations, and internal automation workflows.
• Work with cloud computing platforms, specifically Google Cloud Platform / GCP, to support scalable and durable infrastructure.
• Write clear, testable, and maintainable code following team standards and engineering best practices.
• Proactively test your work and take responsibility for fixing defects in the areas you work on.

Collaborate and grow as an engineer:

• Deliver well-scoped engineering tasks with growing independence and communicate progress proactively.
• Collaborate with data and marketing teams to understand business needs and build practical automation solutions.
• Participate in code reviews by receiving feedback and providing clear, useful, and actionable feedback to others.
• Contribute to team documentation and knowledge sharing so that systems and workflows are easy to understand and maintain.
• Use AI-assisted coding tools to improve workflow and efficiency, while critically evaluating suggestions.

• Proficiency in JavaScript, with the ability to read, understand, and write simple scripts.
• Comfortable developing in Python, ideally with some experience with API development or API integrations, and comfortable using Git for version control.
• Able to write clear, well-structured, and testable code, while balancing practical delivery with quality.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to break larger problems into smaller, manageable parts.
• Familiar with SQL/BigQuery and working with relational or analytical databases & willingness to learn database management in a cloud environment.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with or interest in Google Ads, Meta, and TikTok APIs.
• Previous experience building automation solutions, scripts, data workflows.
• Basic experience with containerization tools such as Docker.
• Basic understanding of cloud computing platforms, ideally Google Cloud Platform / GCP.
• Experience or familiarity with Airflow & DBT.
• Familiarity with Python backend frameworks like Django or FastAPI.
