Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:
To develop strategic partnerships with key external stakeholders during the entire life cycle of Pfizer products, providing focused relevant information in response to customer-stated needs in order to maintain a therapeutic leadership position and drive business needs at the national, regional, and corporate level.
To work with multicultural, cross-functional work teams with a high degree of cross-functional collaboration.
To interact with and develop enduring relationships with national opinion leaders, national advisors on clinical practice, contributors to national guidelines and national and/or regional formularies.
To communicate customer feedback on product development and life-cycle strategies.
To work with the Country Medical Manager on the Country Medical Council to ensure in country compliance of all Oncology medical / business activities with local legislation, and Pfizer local / global SOPs.
Medical input into assigned brand cross functional team and where necessary into local HCP based initiatives.
To provide scientific / medical expertise to the therapeutic area or product given.
Medical input and preparation to HTA work and for value dossiers.
To provide a critical review and medical input into promotional materials and marketing strategy.
Local approval of material produced in BU in country e. g. local marketing material.
Dissemination of recent scientific knowledge / data on Oncology portfolio in approved indications.
Communication of recent scientific knowledge / data on Oncology portfolio in off-label indications and on Oncology products in development upon request.
To provide quality scientific presentations at internal and external meetings.
Working with clinical trial investigators, including support for local investigator meetings and trial steering committees
Soliciting feedback on clinical trial programs and protocols (feasibility) from potential investigators for Oncology portfolio, if appropriate.
Management of IIRs-discussion and presentation of proposal, internal scientific review, KOL follow up, congress and identifying KOLs/HCPs for local business needs or health care policy-related strategies.
Medical lead for national advisory boards.
Dealing with customer enquiries on drug safety issues for Oncology portfolio.
Medical support for HTA work (sub-national and national) related to specialty portfolio.
Medical review of third-party publications.
KOL speaker briefings for national congresses.
Local medical education of customer facing teams.
Medical societies identification and collaboration relevant to Oncology BU.
Member of local implementation team for Oncology observational (non -interventional) studies.
To support local media briefings and interviews related to Oncology portfolio.
Responsible for Annual Medical Planning and uploading to tactical matrix accordingly and continuous monthly monitoring of the medical budget.

Requirements

Appropriately qualified (higher level science degree, pharmacist or doctor).
Appropriate therapeutic knowledge (Oncology) preferred.
Fluency in business English and local language.
An in-depth knowledge of the products in the portfolio as well as an understanding of the therapeutic context including competitors.
A good understanding of clinical research as well as the ability to critically evaluate clinical studies whether a protocol or publication.
An understanding of the national and regional health environment including its structure, policy, key members and scientific societies.
A knowledge of health economics and its impact on medical decision making.
An understanding of the process of drug development.
Knowledge of the relevant and applicable Codes of Practice, SOPs, regulations and guidelines as they apply to the function.
Knowledge of pharmacovigilance and regulatory legislation and how it impacts the product portfolio.
Communication and presentation skills - to present data and express ideas effectively.
Negotiation and influencing skills. Successful in managing complex issues by effective negotiation and influencing skills.
