Job Description

The Coding Resource will perform account medical coding activates based on the information provided in the patient care report (PCR). The positions will report to the EMS Coding Team Lead.

Responsibilities

• Complete account information based on PCR review. Information includes, but is not limited to level of service, emergency designation, modifiers, ICD-9/10 codes, medical necessity codes, supplemental charges, signature types, transport mileage, etc.
  
• Complete various projects as assigned by management.
  
• Assist with processing in departments other than coding as directed by management.
  
• Communicate trends and opportunities for improvement to management.
  
• Ensure compliance with all company confidentiality policies including patient information, client information and team member information encountered while performing job duties.
  
• Understand, support, enforce and comply with company policies, procedures and Standards of Business Ethics and Conduct.
  
• Display a positive attitude as well as professional, polite, considerate and courteous conduct and treatment of others in the course of duties.

Requirements

• Bilingual Lithuanian and English.
  
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
  
• Experience in International Classification of Disease (ICD) version 9 and/or 10 with certification is preferred.
  
• Knowledge of applicable healthcare data privacy practices and laws is preferred.
  
• Basic computer operating skills.
  
• Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
  
• Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail.
  
• Highly self-motivated and directed.
  
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  
• Excellent computer literacy skills.
