Job Description
- Includes planning, systems analysis, systems design/development/deployment, automation, scripting, and documentation.
- Identifying, triaging, troubleshooting, and resolving problems with SQL services in Dev, QA and Production environments.
- General operational and maintenance activities as required to ensure highly available, reliable, and well performing systems.
- Analyzing existing systems and processes to recommend improvements to them to maximize capabilities.
- Working with other teams including Network Operations, DevOps, and Software Engineering.
Requirements
- Experience with Microsoft SQL database engine-relevant technologies or in a similar role.
- Good knowledge on SSMS and other SQL Management solutions
- Familiarity with SQL HA/DR solutions, including AlwaysOn, Database mirroring and Log
- shipping and overall replication strategies
- Knowledge of SQL internals, log operations, indexes, performance tuning.
- Scripting experience (Powershell, Transact-SQL).
- Ability to design and implement various SQL service with security in mind.
- Proactive self-starter with good communication skills.
