Job Description
As a Network Support engineer, you will be part of a Global Team that provide 24 x 7 support to Company's Network Infrastructure
across Asia - Pacific, US, Europe, Middle - East, and Africa. Should the shift consist of night hours or bank holidays, you would be
compensated additionally according to the labour law.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Being a shift leader for 4-5 people team during the shift including workload management, senior escalations and shift hand over;
- Monitoring, operating and providing second level troubleshooting of network platforms such as routers, switches, firewalls, load-balancers,
- Handling all alerts and undertaking initial incident classification and prioritisation, performing incident investigation, diagnosis and
- Carrying out health checks and all other monitoring associated activities and engage with 2nd and 3rd line technical support and / or
- Raise and manage Incident/Change/Problem tickets through to completion in line with current best practices
Requirements
We expect you to possess:
- Analytical Incident and Problem investigation skills
- Experience managing escalations to vendor and senior management;
- Change implementation skill across a complex Network environment; including new business and break/fix changes
- Experience in working in a complex IT environment supporting multiply services and platforms
- Knowledge and concepts of Cisco routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP and OSPF
- Understanding of firewall concepts
- CCNA certificate (essential)
- Fluent English (essential)
Desirable:
- Experience in managing the shift and being responsible for workload and senior escalations;
- Awareness of industry best practices in IT around Change, Problem and Incident Management (ITIL certification would be an advantage)
- Hands - on Firewall experience for Juniper, Checkpoint, Lucent, etc.
