Job Description

Washing, ironing, wringing bed linen
Operating washing machine, dryer and mangle
Keeping the work environment in order and maintaining stock levels
English and German perfect

Responsible during the watch for the safety of passengers, crew and the
ship
During his shift he should be located at/near to the reception
Time should be recorded with the night watch clock onboard, available for this purpose
Guarding the ship against burglary and or intrusion by third parties
Carrying out fire rounds at regular intervals
Inspecting the ship’s moorings to the berth
Monitoring the entry to the ship (gangplank)
Inspecting the recommended lighting
Inspecting the lighting in general
Ensuring that doors are closed when the ship is not underway
Grinding and removing non-returnable empty bottles
Re-stocking the bar and restaurant with bottles of beer, water and lemonade.
Storing empty bottles in their specific crates intended in the designated area in a well-organised manner
Removing food leftovers from the waste bin
Storing refuse bags at the quayside in the manner stipulated
Checking for oil and water leakages in both engine rooms and in the wiring conduit
Monitoring the temperature of the refrigeration and freezers in the kitchen
Waking passengers by telephone at the given time
Recording the names of the crew who will be coming onboard after 1.00 a.m. in the watch logbook

Requirements

Polishing the copper on the banister in the reception hall and the ship’s bell
Cleaning public areas at the appointed times, with the approved materials and cleaning agents according to the work schedule determined
Cleaning and disinfecting toilet facilities
Cleaning windows and doors with a chamois leather

Immediately reporting any defects to the Captain and HM
Strict compliance with the specified standards with regard to outer appearance and work clothes/ uniform, ensuring that these are clean and intact
