Platform Engineer (Linux)

We are the Linux team in Danske Bank which provides Linux and container based solutions and services. This means end to end ownership – from operations to engineering. We find the best tools to run our infrastructure and we adopt the best practices.

You will be working on Linux infrastructure and containers platform in close cooperation with number of infrastructure teams (windows, virtualization, storage, middleware, networks), architecture teams and stakeholders to provide the best and modern environment to run business applications (MobileBank, MobilePay and others).

Mission:

• Keeping Linux infrastructure happy and healthy
• Taking care of Linux based offers – logging service, container platform, monitoring and automation infrastructure
• Getting incidents solved once and for all
• Using coding skills automate boring tasks, test your own code, test colleague’s code, deploy changes, write documentation
• Solving issues quickly and efficiently after hours (on-call)
• Throwing crazy ideas how to make team life easier and user experience better

• Working experience with Linux or UNIX systems
• Working experience with containers – Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker
• Experience with automation, configuration management systems – Chef, Ansible, Terraform
• Understanding monitoring methods and tools
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies – VMware or others
• Programming skills – python, ruby
• Being able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
