Job Description

Category Analyst is an expert in developing, supporting and delivering market intelligence to the procurement organization and ensuring that NKT has all the required intelligence of the categories and suppliers supporting effective negotiations strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the category management function with the requested deep-dive based on the defined catalogue of services
  • Performing secondary market research on the direct and indirect categories
  • Supporting the monthly publication of the raw material index price development and exploring possibilities of further maturing the offering supporting sales, finance and other key functions
  • Performing supplier intelligence – Supplier profiling, financial analysis, contract analysis, spend analysis
  • Creating Price development models – Should cost models and TCOs
  • Creating category specific market reports and monthly newsletters (monthly or quarterly)
  • Support category managers with a deep-dive when developing category strategies
  • Identifying subscriptions useful for the cables industry and building a portfolio of references which can help develop a one-stop-shop for any category analysis work
  • Supporting spend analytics in Ariba and assisting the quarterly data loads
  • Supporting maintenance of the internal procurement taxonomy and coordinating updates across the organization
  • Based on availability, also support the organization with the initiatives related to the procurement academy

Requirements

Skills and competencies:

  • Minimum + 3 years of experience in the relevant market research/ category analysis domain
  • Primary or secondary market research for a minimum of 2 years
  • Enthusiastic and open to learn and drive changes – benefitting the world of analytics
  • Demonstrate strong customer service focus and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers
  • Ability to interpret large amounts of internal and external data
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
  • International mind-set
  • Full professional proficiency of written and oral English. Other European language would be advantage.
  • Key skills – MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Primary and Secondary market research

Education:

  • Degree in Business/Finance/Accounting/Economics or equivalent education
  • Specialization in supply chain or procurement
