Job Description

    Job Purpose:
  • The role will encompass hiring for a variety of vacancies and coaching line managers to
deliver best practice recruitment and ensuring understanding of and compliance to HR
governance and recruitment policy.
  • The Recruitment Advisor will be responsible for
developing relationships with business areas and associated HR, Leadership and Reward

    Key Accountabilities:
    60% - Operational Activity
    • Participate in recruitment activities: cost management, candidate attraction methodology, the
    facilitation of vendor selection, engagement and management, assessment tools through to
    negotiation of hire.
    • Create clear and effective communication channels with Business Leaders, HR, Reward
    and Talent teams.
    • Ensure fit for purpose recruitment processes, getting the basics right to facilitate Line
    Manager accountability of BAU recruitment activity.
    • Provide coaching where required supporting the Resourcing process and Talent agenda.
    • Monitor Recruitment tools (from generic attraction material through to assessment design)
    available to Line Managers, evaluate effectiveness and ensure fit for purpose.
    • Build and maintain a talent pipeline that is in line with business requirements and the
    talent/people agenda.

    20% - Research
    • Work with the business and Human Resources to define Talent and overlay the
    competencies and behaviors on to current and forthcoming roles.
    • Know the candidate market and research into ways of attracting and retaining candidates
    that could feed into talent pipeline.
    • Understand Barclays’ performance in the recruitment market in terms of perception,
    reputation, the candidate experience and on-boarding. Recommend improvements and
    efficiencies as necessary.
    • Understand and contribute to recruitment demand plans. Use data to recruit ahead of the
    curve and design targeted attraction methods.
    • Keep abreast of developments in employment legislation to ensure best Resourcing

    20% - Management Information
    • Calculate, monitor and report true cost per hire.
    • Monitor, analyze and report 3rd party supplier performance. Ensure cost effectiveness is


  • Very good English skills;
  • Proven experience in a recruitment role with evidence of strong/high performance.
  • Solid experience of external, retained search and selection, contingency and multi channel
recruitment. To include: an understanding of how people are recruited, the basis of an
employer proposition and what attracts candidates.
  • Understanding and experience of delivering of different recruitment methods and techniques
and competency models.
  • Awareness of relevant Employment Legislation.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end ‘best practice’ recruitment.
