Job Description
The Senior Accountant will oversee the management of accounting services in Kaunas, Lithuania. It includes, but is not limited to the management of an initial team of one Junior Accountant and timely processing of accounts payable, invoice entry, payment processing, and general ledger posting. It also includes management of accounting quality assurance and training programs, as well as documentation and feedback related to quality, productivity, and compliance.
Furthermore, this role will be the primary contact for our outside accounting firm and the US accounting team. The position will report to the Director of Shared Services.
Responsibilities:
• Establish productivity and quality objectives.
• Organize resources to achieve objectives.
• Monitor daily workflow of team members, taking corrective action where applicable.
• Create and implement quality assurance review procedures.
• Conduct monthly quality reviews for each team member, developing corrective action plans where applicable.
• Build, maintain, and run business objects reports, spreadsheets, documents, etc. to assist with team management.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of training materials.
• Lead training of new and existing staff.
• Perform human resource duties as needed, including employee recruiting and retention.
• Complete journal entries and general ledger account reconciliation.
• Complete accounts payable transactions, meeting monthly close deadlines.
• Assist with the creation of financial statements that meet both Lithuanian law and GAAP.
• Recognize trends, analyze root causes and propose solutions to resolve any concerns.
• Ensure compliance with all company confidentiality policies including patient information, client information and team member information encountered while performing job duties.
• Understand, support, enforce and comply with company policies, procedures and Standards of Business Ethics and Conduct.
• Display a positive attitude as well as professional, polite, considerate and courteous conduct and treatment of others in the course of duties.
Requirements
• Bachelors in finance, accounting, or related field.
• Work experience in finance or accounting.
• Bilingual Lithuanian and English.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
• Highly self-motivated and directed.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple tasks.
• Flexible to handle unexpected daily challenges.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Strong computer operating skills.
• Ability to travel to the US for two weeks for training.
• Supervisory experience preferred, but not required.
• Revenue cycle management experience preferred, but not required.
• Healthcare industry experience preferred, but not required.
