Job Description

The senior Manufacturing engineer is involved in the total design process for developing structural components. He is responsible to deliver the input to create an optimal product design from manufacturing and assembly perspective and he selects and implements manufacturing and assembly methods for new products, based on customer and business requirements. Also he will support transfer of the design to production, across the supply chain. He fulfils the liaison role between design and production and he works closely together with stress/design, cost engineering, tooling engineering, R&D, production and quality. The senior manufacturing engineer also contributes to the development of new technologies and manufacturing engineering knowledge and processes.

Requirements

HBO
Mechanical engineering / Aerospace engineering
5 - 10 years working experience

Higher education in engineering, preferably production or aeronautical engineering. Sufficient knowledge of design processes, preferable in the aircraft industry. At least 5 years experience in manufacturing engineering or related field, preferably in Aerospace. Self-starting and able to set clear directions based on knowledge, and an analytical approach. Advanced knowledge of concepts like DFM/DFA, Value Engineering, Lean Six Sigma. Preferably experience in working with CAD/PDM-systems. Knowledge of quality, procurement, cost engineering and logistics. Able to work both independently and in a multifunctional team. Able to deal with complex technical aspects in a business-context. Have a pro-active, creative and innovative attitude. Furthermore excellent technical reporting and communication skills (oral and written) are required. Good command of English and Dutch (preferably).
