
Senior Web Proxy Engineer
Job Description
The vacancy is for a Technical Infrastructure Specialist providing live systems support and project delivery to a number of company‘s core
services environments. The role provides exposure to underlying platforms used to deliver Secure Web access, DNS/DHCP/NTP and Load
Balancing for the company‘s application infrastructure and internal staff.
Responsibilities:
- To complete all Infrastructure elements of Projects which require Internet Web Access component, DNS/DHCP/NTP or Load Balancing;
- Creation and maintenance of technical standards, support documentation, hardware and software topology diagrams. All documents must
service recovery;
- Technical delivery and implementations driven by risk activities (RCA);
- React quickly and as necessary to live systems errors and service problems to minimise downtime and restore service. Key focus will be

- Take responsibility for additional accountabilities on behalf of the team as delegated by line manager, including:
o Capacity Management; regular review & reporting of capacity management to Service Owner & Network Technologies Controls
Framework;
o Configuration Management; monthly review & reporting to ensure baseline compliance maintained and fed into Network Technologies
Controls Framework;
o Change Management; adherence to all RBB Change Management process & policies;
o Incident Management; adherence to all RBB Incident Management process & polices.
Requirements
- Experience of working in a 2nd line IT support environment;
- Working knowledge of underlying infrastructure components/platforms – Unix (Solaris, Linux), DNS/DHCP/NTP, Load Balancing, Web
- Knowledge of Web Access architectures: Must have extensive experience with Web Access appliances. Perl/Shell Scripting/HTTP useful;
- Can demonstrate wide range of underlying networks knowledge e.g.– IP, Subnets, Routing;
- McAfee Secure Web Gateway (formally known as Webwasher), Bluecoat Proxies, F5 BigIP (LTM/GTM), Infoblox technologies, G2
- Understanding of IT Security;
- Clear communication skills in English, both verbal and written;
- Ability to build relationships with and to manage 3rd party suppliers and vendors;
- Knowledge of incident, problem and change management. ITIL accreditation preferred;
- Analytical ability;
- Change Management skills to search for ways of improving processes and deliverables embracing a change culture.
