Job Description
We are a team in charge of Danske Bank storage infrastructure. Using our automation, coding skills and development methods we are making our backup infrastructure compliant and healthy.
Danske Bank infrastructure is growing fast and we never run out of puzzles to solve, new things to test, people to meet and ideas to share.
Responsibilities
- Automate all manual tasks and develop Backup as a Service concept
- Keep Backup infrastructure compliant and healthy
- Configure Data Storage, Data Protection and Distributed storage systems
- Work on large scale high availability storage stacks for enterprises with the focus on stability and performance
- Monitor daily backup process and solve incidents that may arise
- Monitor, maintain backup and storage environment and troubleshoot problems that may arise
- Follow standard processes for change, incident, problem management, audit and security
- Write technical operating system documentation
- Solve issues quickly and efficiently after hours (on-call)
- Act as an SME for less experience colleagues providing leadership and coaching respectively
- Throwing crazy ideas how to make team life easier, customer experiences better
Requirements
- Educational background in IT field
- 2-3 years of experience as a Storage or Backup Engineer
- Basic knowledge of systems administration: Windows, Linux, Networking, Virtualization (VMware)
- Knowledge and experience with DSC tools Puppet, Chef, Ansible would be beneficial
- Experience with any Enterprise backup tools: Commvault (would be an advantage), EMC Avamar, IBM TSM, Symantec Netbackup
- Experience with storage devices: Tape libraries, block storage, (Hitachi, IBM, EMC), file storage (NAS systems)
- Experience with distributed systems and high availability solutions
- Understanding of storage virtualization technologies: i.e. IBM SVC
- Proven track record of delivering automation solutions and solving complex issues
- Incident and change management experience (ITIL Foundation certificate would be an advantage)
- Understanding of security challenges and solutions
- Excellent English skills (written and spoken)
