Job Description

ROLE

To provide technical input within a small team responsible for the delivery of structural engineering projects relating to nuclear installations. Reporting to a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for undertaking calculations and preparing reports in connection with solving structural assessment and design problems.

Tasks will include:
• Undertaking calculations in accordance with appropriate British Standards
• Checking calculations and reports prepared by others
• Supporting the Technical Manager

• Ability to set own targets and work to them The office that is recruiting specialises in nuclear engineering and the design and management of nuclear decommissioning projects, also with work outside the nuclear field. Candidates may be expected to travel in the UK on short assignments to assist with the delivery of our projects.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
• First Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering EXPERIENCE
  

Minimum three years experience in the design, assessment and specification of buildings and structures.
• In depth knowledge of current and previous codes of practise relating to steel & reinforced concrete design.
• Working knowledge of industry standard computerised analysis and design software packages.
