Job Description
- Ensure an appropriate overall production plan is successfully executed, encompassing all purchasing, CRP and production scheduling activities.
- Coordinate activities for Receiving/Warehouse, Shipping, Purchasing, Inventory Control and Production Scheduling.
- Oversee Corporate Sales Forecast and plant production plans with actual demand patterns.
- Monitor sales and production level reports to pinpoint potential problems, take preventative action, and inform parties involved in minimize the effects on customer service and/or production.
- Coordinate planning (MRP) activities on the plant level to update, implement, and suggest changes in the planning system to enable the Materials function to control inventory and production requirements.
- Ensure production scheduling, machine loading, and expediting activities are executed to minimize customer service issues and maximize cost effectiveness.
- Champion all procedural and policy changes to keep pace with Word Class initiatives in manufacturing, planning/scheduling, inventory accuracy, inventory reduction, planning techniques, purchasing/contractual activities, and internal/external logistics.
- Optimize resources to minimize inventories and operating/logistics costs. Control inventory levels to meet Annual Inventory Plan including inventory reduction and turns increase initiatives.
- Monitor actual performance against target levels to utilize inventory dollars in the most productive manner.
- Work with corporate functions and other plants to ensure proper development of S&OP (sales and operations planning) plans based on accurate forecast data and appropriate consideration of plant capabilities and customer needs.
- Provide for the continuing professional development of staff and non-exempt personnel to help mentor and encourage all associates to perform at their best.
Requirements
- 6+ years of similar working experience (including purchasing, manufacturing planning, inventory control and people management) preferably in big international organisation
- Degree in in Business Administration or related technical field
- Experience with MRP and CRP preferred
- ERP (SAP preferred) knowledge
- Working knowledge of World Class materials/logistics concepts (i.e. Lean, six sigma, and TPI) preferred
