
Sushi Chef
Job Description
Responsible for preparing sauces and sushi in accordance with our guidelines.
Monitors and ensures the portioning of foods prepared and maintains the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen.
Performs shift opening and closing duties as assigned to include cleaning kitchen, equipment, and floor.
Maintains kitchen, cooking areas, sushi counters, kitchen equipment, refrigeration units and food storage areas clean, sanitary and organized.
Reports any kitchen/sushi equipment or maintenance issues to the manager on duty and head chef.
Handles, stores, labels, and rotates foods properly and in accordance with health control unit and Norwegian laws.
Uses knives, hand tools, utensils, and equipment to portion, cut, slice, julienne, whip, beat, maintain holding temperature, chill, freeze or otherwise produce food.
Presents a clean and neat appearance and uses a courteous manner with all guests.
Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
Requirements
Have a permit to work in Norway
Have a thorough understanding of preparing and making sushi and Japanese food.
Be willing to learn a real Japanese way with good memory
Pay attention to detail of hygiene rules
Have experience
Humble, reliable, and honest
Healthy and fit
Hard working and enthusiastic
Be able to manage a busy kitchen and handle stress
Be able to communicate in English and work as a team player
Be able to work during summer, Christmas and all holidays
Company offers
NOK130 – 200 per hour or about NOK 20,000-35,000 per month depending on your skills. Overtime pay and holiday money will be given to employee according to Norwegian labour laws. Holiday money is about 10.2% of the gross income of the whole year.
