
Team Leader
Job Description
An exciting opportunity for a Team Leader to manage and mentor a team of six Technical Operators, responsible for the operational activities
associated with database build/update processes and execution of marketing campaigns.
The team is also responsible for investigating and resolving operational issues, including load failures, data validation errors and exceptions.
Working closely with our Development function, this is a key role in the continual improvement of these services. It is essential you are able to
motivate and inspire a team and have excellent communication skills; able to challenge at all levels and manage customer expectations with
confidence.
The successful candidate should also be proficient with MS SQL Server Management Studio and SSIS. Having previous experience in a data
management role would also be
desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the team to achieve KPIs and targets
- Conduct regular team meetings, 121 reviews and performance appraisals
- Ensure client needs are understood and achieved within agreed timescales and to expectations
- Liaise with other departments or 3rd parties as required to ensure resolution of issues
- Identify trends in fault patterns and raise these problems with internal/external departments in a pro-active manner
- Creation and maintenance of operational documentation e.g. Process Flows, Dependency Diagrams, Quality Control Procedures
- Drive Continual Service Improvement through regular service reviews, process evaluation and defining initiatives to improve services and
- Provide regular reporting on the delivery of service against target and service improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to summarise complex arguments and make clear recommendations
- Passion for Service Excellence and Continual Service Improvement
- Excellent troubleshooting and fault resolution skills
- Ability to lead discussions and influence decisions
- Understanding of relational database concepts
- Familiar with MS SQL Server Management Studio, SSIS and MS Office suite of applications
- Ability to import, analyse and export data using SQL Server; understanding SQL queries of a simple to medium complexity
- Understanding of quality control in a data environment, including validation rules, exception handling, audit trail and reconciliation
