Job Description

Leading: task manage a team of about 3-5 support analysts;
Application support: managing incidents when errors or exceptions occur; pro-actively reviewing systems to fix incidents before they become service
affecting or to improve productivity/performance; providing ongoing 3rd line application support in the resolution of client queries/incidents/problems on a
day-to-day basis; owning the resolution of incidents within the agreed Service Levels; managing and successfully implementing service orders raised by
clients or small change;
Service Delivery: ensuring services delivered to agreed services levels, to quality and cost, and with appropriate prioritisation of activities within own
team responsibility; leading root cause analysis identification & resolution initiatives, improving Service provision and reducing incident levels; taking a lead
role during service outages to clients/stakeholders - ensuring appropriate handling of issues, incidents and provision of any standard or ‘on demand’
client/stakeholder reports;
Application Enhancement: creating and amending programs in accordance with the design following relevant code management procedures and applying
agreed coding standards; planning, designing and conducting tests of programs, correcting errors and re-testing to deliver an error-free product;
proposing options to meet business area requirements and prepare cost/benefit for the business area to evaluate; reacting quickly and as necessary to
live software errors and service problems to limit downtime and resolve the problem during project handover; documenting all work;
Capability Growth: building and maintaining an expert understanding of the various stages of software development, enhancements, and support;
providing guidance and assistance to colleagues; interfacing with other teams, sharing technical knowledge and expertise and resolving issues as
necessary; assisting with the implementation of operational objectives for relevant team/programme;
Transformation: proposing areas for improvement within own technical sphere to help achieve the Service Management and Support Goals, reviewing
and recommending process improvements, helping to implement where possible.

Requirements

Requirements:

Experience in working with ETL tools
Good understanding of data & data integrity concepts
Incident and Problem Management experience
Leadership Skills
Good analytical investigation techniques
Good organisational skills
Good written & oral communication skills in English
Basic Unix or Linux knowledge
