Responsibilities:

• Managing incidents and changes
  
• OS Patching
  
• Problem solving
  
• DCR tests
  
• SAN / NAS (migrations, new mounts, new file systems, extend file system, add to cluster)
  
• UNIX Agent remediation (Galaxy, Nimbus, Ganglia, Powerbroker, BladeLogic)
  
• Audit/security issues remediation
  
• Performance issue identification/remediation
  
• Puppet configuration management
  
• Symantec/Veritas deployments
  
• Autosys job management, MQ installations
  
• TSM backup management
  
• Client AD management (using Quest Authentication Services – QAS)
  
• SUDO management and migrations to Powerbroker
  

The team may need to cover the support hours from 10:00 to 20:00 and will therefore need to work early and late shifts.

Requirements

Qualifications
We expect you to possess:

• Excellent fault finding skills/ability
  
• Strong communication skills (in English)
  
• Excellent understanding of Solaris or Linux (RedHat Linux ) operating systems
  
• Good understanding of Sun SPARC and HP ProLiant x86 Hardware
  
• Excellent understanding of Veritas Filesystem, Volume Manager and Cluster File System
  
• Excellent understanding of TCPIP Network architecture
  
• Excellent understanding of DNS, NTP, DHCP
  
• Excellent understanding of Clustering concepts (VCS)
  
• Basic understanding of ITIL best practices for IPC
  
• Good shell scripting knowledge (bash/ksh)
  
• Understanding of Perl
