Job Description

Currently, we are looking for a full time PHP Developer with strong WordPress Skills to join our mission and provide help to our current developers. 

Responsibilities

• Optimize existing WordPress site, develop and implement new ideas;
• Compile and analyze data, processes, and code to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement;
• Build, test, debug, troubleshoot MySQL queries, PHP and JavaScript; Working knowledge of libraries/modules/plugins is essential;
• Collaborate with current front-end developers and other team members to establish objectives and design more functional, cohesive code that enhance the user experience;
• Conduct and ensure essential regular maintenance; 
• Develop ideas for new programs, products, or features by monitoring industry developments and trends;
• Record data and report it to proper parties, such as leadership;
• Participate in continuing education and training to remain current on best practices;
• Take lead on projects, as needed.

Requirements

Experience and Qualifications

• At least 3 years experience working professionally as as a WordPress back-end developer is essential;
• Bachelor's Degree in computer programming, computer science, or a related field is required;
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively - fluency in English is essential.
• Extensive experience with PHP is essential;
• Understanding of code versioning tools such as GIT is essential;
• Experience with coding languages, including: MySQL, PHP, Javascript (including jQuery), RESTful APIs (JSON, XML, etc.), HTML5, and CSS (including SASS and CSS3);
• Experience in working with LMS websites (ie. Sensei) is desirable but not essential;
• Experience working with WooCommerse, Gravity Forms, MailChimp, Yoast SEO, and similar WordPress plugins is preferred; 
• Technical SEO experience is a plus;
• Comfortable handling a variety of detail-oriented tasks with a positive attitude; 
• Works well in a fast-paced environment;
• Tolerance for ambiguity and the ability to adapt to a quickly changing business environment;
• Ability to thrive in remote work setting; shows a history of integrity and professionalism.
