We are seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our esteemed high-end Chinese cuisine restaurant. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Head Chef to oversee kitchen operations, maintain food quality and consistency, and lead a team of culinary professionals. While experience in Chinese cuisine is advantageous, it is not mandatory. We welcome candidates with strong culinary skills and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences to our discerning clientele

Requirements

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Assist the Head Chef in managing day-to-day kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
  • Supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow, proper food handling procedures, and adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
  • Train and mentor junior chefs providing guidance on culinary techniques, menu execution, and kitchen organization.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop seasonal menus, special dishes, and tasting menus that showcase authentic Chinese flavors and innovative culinary concepts.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering ingredients to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, conducting regular inspections of kitchen equipment, workspaces, and storage areas.
  • Work closely with front-of-house staff to coordinate food service and ensure timel delivery of orders to guests

What we expect from you:

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie in an upscale restaurant, preferably with experience in Chinese or Asian cuisine (not mandatory).
  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification from a recognized culinary institute is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the ability to motivate and inspire kitchen staff to achieve culinary excellence.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate with kitchen staff, management, and suppliers.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • A passion for culinary innovation and a commitment to delivering memorable dining experiences to guests.
  • Minimum age requirement 21 years.
