Job Description

As an Analytics Engineer in the Marketplace Strategy & Planning team, you will build analytical data models, dashboards, and other data products that provide insight into the performance of Vinted’s Marketplace and help shape our strategy.

  • Architect and build scalable and reliable data models and pipelines in dbt, BigQuery, and Looker that turn internal and external source data into datasets and dashboards used for reporting, forecasting, and analyses.
  • Implement data quality checks, tests, and controls to improve the reliability and trustworthiness of our data.
  • Translate stakeholder needs into technical delivery by gathering requirements, aligning metric definitions, and turning them into well-documented models and metrics.
  • Create and enable data products that help stakeholders understand marketplace and competitor performance and make informed decisions.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of working experience (or alternative activities resulting in a similar level of proficiency) as an Analytics Engineer or a closely related role (e.g. BI Engineer, Data Engineer or Data Analyst) with ownership of production pipelines
  • Strong technical skills, comfortable in our analytics engineering tech stack, which includes SQL/Google BigQuery, dbt, Python, Looker/LookML, Git.
  • Experience with data modeling and interested in developing and maintaining data products at scale, while balancing scalability, efficiency and reliability.
  • Excellent attention to detail. You care about data quality, edge cases, and consistency across pipelines, metrics and dashboards. You value documentation and clean, tidy code
  • Proactive and independent: you look for ways to iterate on and improve the data products you and your team own, and improve stakeholder experience.
  • You communicate clearly and proactively, and can be a reliable partner for business and technical stakeholders both within the domain and the broader organisation. You are comfortable in ambiguous and complex situations.
