BAU Community Management Coordinator

Duties

The Community Management Coordinator (CMC) is based in the Public Diplomacy Section (PDS) of the Belarus Affairs Unit at the U.S. Embassy of Vilnius. It is responsible for overseeing 4-5 full time contractors who create social media content for PDS use. The CMC works with contractors where appropriate to build and maintain Mission Belarus flagship digital properties (social media, website content); developing a year-long editorial calendar designed to promote Mission priorities with online communities; researching and analyzing evolving markets for Mission digital properties; and customizing content and online engagement to promote Mission objectives. Organizes and hosts online conversations and designs and develops innovative engagement opportunities and tools. Provides guidance to Public Diplomacy (PD) staff and other Mission personnel who engage with online communities on standards, regulations, and policies for the use of digital properties.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

All selected candidates must be able to obtain and hold a security certificate.

All selected candidates will be subject to a background investigation and may be subject to a pre-employment medical exam.  

Selected candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (4 weeks) upon receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

 

Education Requirements:

An associate’s degree or two years of full-time university studies in Communications, Business, Marketing, or local equivalent is required.

Qualifications:

Experience: Three years of experience is required in managing digital properties, including online interaction with the public and content creation in multimedia and traditional formats.

Language: Fluent (speaking/reading/writing, may include the ability to translate) of English and good working knowledge of Russian (speaking/reading/writing) are required.  This may be tested.
