Engineering Manager, Marketplace Payments

We are looking for a technically savvy Engineering Manager to lead the Racoons Team within the Marketplace Payments domain. This team owns a ledger, ensures smooth money movement and other payment functions.

Your team of engineers is tasked with making sure that money can move, balances add up, reports generate, engineering standards are high. You will report to the Director of Engineering and work hand-in-hand with Product and Data peers.

In this position, you’ll

• People Leadership: Lead, coach, and grow a talented team of engineers. Build and maintain a team culture based on trust, commitment, psychological safety, and clear accountability. Conduct ongoing feedback, performance, and compensation reviews.
• Product Discovery & Planning: Partner closely with Product Managers and the team during early-stage discovery to map out the technical strategy for future product initiatives and come up with the delivery plan.
• Delivery: Lead the team’s delivery against the product roadmap while maintaining team's health.

• Highly skilled at building engineering teams, hiring new talent, setting clear scope, and managing priorities to keep the team focused and motivated.
• Background in backend engineering (ideally handling external API structures, webhook payloads, and cross-service async communication). You are comfortable guiding technical decision-making.
• Outstanding stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical ideas clearly and confidently across internal teams (Product, Compliance, Legal) and external global technology providers.
